Great Allegheny Passage trail concierge services website - the "mother" of all rail trails this 150 mile trail goes from Pittsburgh at the northern terminus to Cumberland MD at the southern terminus - this trail adjoins the 185 mile C&O canal NPS - NHP towpath trail - 335 miles total
Adventure Cycling has several organized tours along these 2 trails

Pine Creek Gorge trail - map Pennsylvania's "Grand Canyon" - bike route G (see PA bike routes) uses a portion of this 57.8 mile long trail

route L segment 12 - this segment shows the route through Hickory Run state park and Lehigh Gorge state park note: as an alternate route could follow the UN paved trail through the gorge 21.5 mi. from the White Haven access to the Glen Onoko access at the southern most end near Jim Thorpe - then PA route 903 north/east to outside of Weissport at the intersection with (local town) route 2017 Maury Rd. rejoining route L - there should be sinage for the route here

this north-south route follows the Susquehanna river (technicaly the northern part of the route follows the west branch of the river to Shamokin Dam where the west branch meets with the main river) This route goes through the small cities of Williamsport and York as well as Harisburg, the state capitol. This relatively flat route would favor the non-camping cyclist. The route also goes very close to,but not through,the full service town of Lewisburg.Lewisburg is the "hometown" for Bucknell University. (see tourist info for services in Lewisburg)

























route G all segments Win ZIP self extracting (.exe) archive - files contained within are PDF documents - this north-south route follows a 17.2 mi portion of the 57.8 mi long UN paved Pine Creek gorge trail, within the Tioga state forest,to the Blackwell access area.Route G then exits the trail and follows a paved parallel route - PA state route 414 and route 44. With the numerous campgrounds within the Tioga state forest,and other campgrounds,this route would favor the camping cyclist.
